Sohaib Sheikh has been an active volunteer for the IEEE for the last seven years and is passionate about Pre-University science and engineering education. He has delivered volunteering training workshops across Europe, Middle East, and Africa in the past, and currently is the Pre-University Education Activities Chair for IEEE Region 8 – EMEA. He is also a member of the IEEE Education Activities Board’s (EAB) Pre-University Education Coordination Committee, which formulates IEEE’s policies and programs concerning Pre-University education. In his role in Region 8, he has advocated, along the lines of IEEE EAB’s policies, communicating the role of Pre-University education to the public, which has resulted in several well-attended open events in the UK and Greece.
Sohaib gained his undergraduate degree in Telecommunication Engineering for National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Pakistan and his postgraduate degree in Telecommunications and Networks from City University London, United Kingdom. His career has focused on designing networks and ICT infrastructure strategies for large scale development projects in the United Kingdom, Russia, Kazakhstan, and United Arab Emirates. He is currently employed as a Digital Consultant at Ove Arup and Partners Limited in London, UK.
